Questions

Before you book.

How many sessions will my tattoo take?

Typically 3 to 10. It depends on the ink colour, how deep it was put in, how long it has been there and how quickly you clear the fragments. Black and dark blue usually go fastest. We estimate after seeing the tattoo, not before.

Does it hurt?

Tattoo removal is uncomfortable. Most people describe it as an elastic band snapped against the skin, and a session on a small piece is over in minutes. We will not tell you it is painless.

Will it work on my skin tone?

Our laser is 755 nm only, which suits some skin tones and some inks and not others. Every course starts with a patch test by skin tone, and if yours is not one we can treat safely we will say so at the consultation rather than after you have paid.

Can you treat my melasma?

Sometimes, and sometimes we advise against it. Age spots and sun damage clear well. Melasma is unpredictable and can worsen with the wrong energy, so it is assessed carefully and occasionally declined.

Is the face-up massage the same as massage therapy?

No. It is a massage, done by hand, intraoral and external. It is not registered massage therapy, it is not covered by insurance as such, and we do not treat TMJ.

What happens at the free consultation?

About twenty minutes. You say what is bothering you, we look at it properly, and you leave knowing what we would do, what we would not, and roughly what it costs. No deposit and no obligation.

Who does the treatment?

The clinician who assesses you. Cases are never handed off to someone you have not met, and the clinic has run this way for over ten years.
